Flip Or Fail

ABOUT FLIP OR FAIL

Flip or Fail is a physics-based arcade game built around backflips, aerial tricks, and precise landings. You control a ragdoll-style character who must travel between platforms and finish each stunt upright inside the marked landing zone.

The game features 12 levels spread across six environments, with 10 stages in each main level. Completing stages earns stars and opens additional content, including new characters and two specialized game modes. There are 14 playable characters to collect through progression goals, earned stars, and daily rewards.

HOW TO PLAY

Each attempt begins with your character standing near a ramp or platform edge. Hold the mouse button to crouch and build power, then release it to jump. Once airborne, hold again to rotate backward. Release before reaching the ground so the character can straighten up for the landing.

A successful stunt depends on three connected decisions: launch power, rotation time, and landing angle. A longer charge produces greater height and distance, but it also changes where you will touch down. Holding the flip too long can cause an over-rotation, while stopping too early may leave the character leaning backward.

Landing upright within the target area completes the stage. Your performance is graded with up to three stars, so simply reaching the platform may not produce the best result. Later stages introduce longer gaps, narrow landing zones, multiple jumps, and platforms positioned at different heights.

LEVELS AND GAME MODES

Classic Mode contains the full progression of 12 levels, with 10 stages per level. Their environments are:

  • The Park I and II
  • The Harbor I and II
  • The School I and II
  • The Rooftop I and II
  • The Site I and II
  • The Court
  • Chaos Course

Arcade Mode offers one score-focused stage corresponding to each of these 12 levels. The related Arcade stage becomes available as you advance through its Classic level. Here, the goal is to combine flips and tricks to achieve a higher score and multiplier.

Challenge Mode also follows the same 12-level environment sequence. Each Challenge stage requires 15 stars from its corresponding Classic level to unlock. These stages use more specialized objectives and demand better control of jump power, rotation, and positioning.

Controls

  • Hold the Left Mouse Button: Crouch and charge the jump
  • Release: Launch the character
  • Hold While Airborne: Perform backward rotations
  • Release Before Landing: Stop rotating and prepare to touch down

Build Consistent Landings

Avoid holding the flip button until the last moment. Watch the character’s head and feet, then stop rotating slightly before the landing surface. Consistent timing is more valuable than attempting an unnecessary extra flip, especially on narrow platforms.
