Classic Sudoku Puzzle

Classic Sudoku Puzzle is a traditional number-placement game played on a 9x9 grid. Your goal is to fill every empty cell while making sure each row, column, and 3x3 box contains the numbers 1 through 9 without repetition.

HOW TO PLAY CLASSIC SUDOKU PUZZLE

The board is divided into nine 3x3 boxes, with several numbers already fixed at the start. Select an empty cell, then choose a number from 1 to 9 using the number bar below the grid.

A valid number must satisfy three conditions:

  • It cannot already appear in the same row.
  • It cannot already appear in the same column.
  • It cannot already appear in the same 3x3 box.

The selected row, column, and related cells are highlighted, making it easier to compare numbers across the board.

Mistakes And Puzzle Progress

Incorrect entries increase the Mistakes counter. The gameplay shows a limit of five mistakes, so repeatedly guessing can endanger your attempt.

A timer records how long you spend on the puzzle, allowing you to compare completion times as your solving skills improve.

HOW TO SOLVE THE PUZZLE

Sudoku is based on elimination rather than calculation. Start by examining rows, columns, or 3x3 boxes that already contain many numbers.

Look For Forced Numbers

If a row is missing only one digit, the answer can be identified by comparing the numbers already present. The same principle applies to columns and 3x3 boxes.

For more difficult situations, check which numbers are excluded by all three areas surrounding a cell. When only one possible digit remains, that number can be placed safely.

Use Notes For Uncertain Cells

The Notes option lets you record possible candidates inside a cell without treating them as final answers.

Notes are particularly useful when two or three numbers could fit. As neighboring cells are completed, you can eliminate candidates until only the correct value remains.

Avoid Random Guessing

If you become stuck, scan another part of the board rather than placing a random number. Solving one cell elsewhere can remove a candidate and reveal the next move.
